Beneath that, I added a drawing of Clerk the Demon, also done by Stilldown. (Since Clerk, being associated with Erwin the Quantum Cat, is supposed to be a puppet too, I found this thematically fitting.)
This picture is a bit older, but strangely it seems that I didn't upload it here until now.
As usual, I wondered if I could do this myself alone.
- Building the puppets and props: Would take some time and work, but this wouldn't be a big problem.
- FIlming: Shouldnt be a problem either.
- Speaking some of the voices: more difficult, but could be done.
- Writing a script enjoyable for all ages: Very difficult
- Singing the songs in presentable way: A huge problem
- Finding a speaker for Ariane: Biggest problem
I once read somewhere about how people tend to underestimate the challenge of writing stuff for children.
The issue was less about keeping stuff "family friendly", but rather about hitting the right, uh... "intellectual level" for the intended age group. As in, of course the story shouldn't be too complex, but it also should not go too far in the other direction and be completely braindead!
My most favourite Augsburger Puppenkiste play is still "Urmel spielt im Schloss", as I really enjoyed it when watching again, and I feeled it was somehow aimed at an older audience then the other plays, and the humor was superior.
So if someone would write the plot, and if we had the right speakers, I would really think of producing some movie episodes of that, but problems are listed in chronologic order.
